You Are Not Alone
We Support Adults Navigating
Your nervous system is not the problem. It is trying to protect you.
You feel on edge, even when nothing is wrong.
Your body has a hard time settling, even when you are exhausted.
You overprepare, overfunction, or stay alert to prevent what might happen next.
Rest, closeness, or stillness can feel unfamiliar or unsafe.
You may look capable on the outside while feeling overwhelmed inside.
Past therapy has helped, but something deeper still feels stuck.
"This is a trauma response. And healing is possible."
Our Approach
Moving Beyond Surface-Level Wellness
Trauma-Informed
We understand how trauma shapes emotions, relationships, and survival patterns, so treatment starts with safety, not pressure.
Somatically Integrated
We work with the body as well as the mind, because trauma often lives in patterns of tension, shutdown, and alarm.
Neuro-Informed
Our work is grounded in how the brain and nervous system adapt to threat, and how healing happens over time.
Compassionate & Collaborative
We move at a pace that supports regulation, trust, and meaningful change, with care decided together.
About the Founder
Led by Dr. Reyna Aday,
PhD · LMHC · LPC · NCC · CST · MCAP · CHt · CFMHE · RYT-500 · EMDRIA-Approved Consultant
SOMA was founded by Dr. Reyna Aday, a licensed therapist and board-certified sex therapist. She is licensed in five states and has been in private practice for over ten years. Her work is grounded in research, honors culture and identity, and treats every person with deep respect.
Dr. Aday's original theoretical contributions to the field include Emotional Colonization, which explains how narcissistic abuse can slowly take over a person's emotional life, and Emotional Sovereignty, a step-by-step way to help people take back their sense of self, using what we know about the brain and nervous system.
SOMA also serves as an advanced teaching practice, supervising graduate trainees from NOVA Southeastern University.

Trauma Therapy in Coral Gables
SOMA Trauma Healing Center sees clients in person at our office in downtown Coral Gables, 338 Minorca Ave, Suite 202, a short walk from Miracle Mile and the Coral Gables city core. The space is intentionally contained and private, designed for the slower pace trauma work requires.
We are a specialized trauma practice rather than a general therapy office. Our clinicians integrate EMDR, somatic therapy, and nervous-system regulation, and we work primarily with adults navigating complex trauma, narcissistic abuse, burnout, anxiety, depression, women's mental health, and major life transitions.
SOMA is private-pay, by appointment only. For clients outside Coral Gables, we offer virtual care to residents of Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, and New Mexico. To begin, schedule a brief consultation by phone, email, or the inquiry form on our Contact page.
