Our Clinical Commitments
What We Stand For
Trauma-Informed
Every interaction at SOMA is governed by an understanding of how trauma shapes perception, behavior, and physiology. We do not pathologize responses. We contextualize them.
Neuro-Informed
Clinical work at SOMA is rooted in contemporary neuroscience. We track nervous system states, work within windows of tolerance, and understand the brain's documented capacity for structural change.
Somatically Integrated
Healing is not purely cognitive. The body carries the memory of experience, and any complete therapeutic approach must include the body as an active participant in recovery.
Culturally Responsive
We provide care that is deeply respectful of each person's cultural identity, background, and lived experience. Representation and responsiveness are non-negotiable.
"You are not too much. You are not alone. Healing is possible."

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Trauma Therapy at SOMA
Where is SOMA Trauma Healing Center located?
SOMA Trauma Healing Center is located at 338 Minorca Ave, Suite 202, Coral Gables, FL 33134, in the heart of downtown Coral Gables. We see clients in person at our Coral Gables office and virtually for residents of Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, and New Mexico.
What kind of trauma therapy does SOMA offer?
SOMA offers specialized trauma therapy for adults, integrating EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), somatic therapy, and nervous-system regulation. Our approach is trauma-informed, neuro-informed, and body-based, designed for people whose past therapy has helped but who still feel something deeper is stuck.
Who is SOMA for?
SOMA serves adults navigating complex trauma, narcissistic abuse, burnout and dysregulation, anxiety and depression, women's mental health concerns, and major life transitions. Many of our clients appear capable on the outside while carrying the lasting effects of trauma in their body, relationships, and daily life.
What is EMDR therapy and how does it work?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer trigger the same intense response. Instead of relying solely on talk, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, often guided eye movements, to allow the nervous system to integrate experience that was previously stuck. SOMA uses EMDR within a broader, somatically integrated treatment plan.
Does SOMA take insurance?
SOMA is a private-pay practice and is considered an out-of-network provider for most insurance plans. We provide superbills for clients seeking possible out-of-network reimbursement, and we accept HSA/FSA payments. Current rates are shared during the consultation process.
How do I book an appointment?
Call 305-435-7662, text 305-209-6588, email connect@somatrauma.com, or use the inquiry form on our Contact page. We respond within one business day and schedule a brief consultation to discuss fit, rates, and out-of-network reimbursement before booking an initial clinical assessment.
