Her Philosophy
Patience. Presence. Curiosity. Care.
A central part of Sheila's work is supporting how people come to understand themselves over time in relation to the world around them. She approaches therapy with patience and presence, creating room for what is emerging to take shape in its own way.
This allows for a more honest and human relationship with experience, where change naturally develops, and the journey itself can be met with curiosity, care, and respect.
"Therapy is a place for us to slow down and notice what has become automatic. It creates room for exploration, greater awareness, choice, and flexibility over time."
— Sheila Santos, MS, RMHCI

The Therapeutic Process
Built Together, at Your Pace
Sheila works with clients who feel out of sync in their bodies, emotionally overwhelmed, or caught in patterns of stress, burnout, anxiety, or low mood. Some are navigating attention or regulation challenges, while others are moving through major life transitions that leave them feeling unsettled or disconnected from steadiness in daily life.
The therapeutic process is something built together at your pace. Sheila integrates evidence-based approaches in a way that is responsive to the person in front of her, while holding a trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming perspective.
Sheila has a particular clinical interest in experiences related to Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS, formerly known as PCOS), honoring the deep intersection between hormonal experience, the nervous system, and emotional life.
Clinical Modalities
An Integrated Evidence-Based Toolkit
Sheila's clinical practice integrates multiple evidence-based frameworks, grounded in an understanding of the nervous system and responsive to the individual in each session.
