Frequently Asked Questions About Payment & Financing
What payment methods does SOMA accept?
SOMA accepts all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners Club, and UnionPay. We also accept HSA and FSA cards and Cash App Pay. Payments are handled through our secure checkout.
Can I pay for therapy over time?
Yes. For larger investments such as EMDR intensives and multi-session packages, you can spread the cost over time. We offer buy-now, pay-later options through Affirm and Klarna, and longer-term health financing through CareCredit. Approval and terms are set by the financing provider, not by SOMA.
What is CareCredit and how does it work?
CareCredit is a health and wellness credit card that many people use to pay for care over time. You apply directly with CareCredit, and if approved, you can use it toward eligible services at SOMA and pay it back in monthly installments. Interest and terms depend on your CareCredit plan.
How do Affirm and Klarna work at checkout?
At checkout you can choose Affirm or Klarna to split your payment into smaller amounts over time. You are briefly redirected to the provider to confirm your plan, then returned to complete your purchase. Approval, rates, and schedules are decided by Affirm or Klarna.
Do financing options change my care?
No. How you choose to pay does not change your treatment. Your care is paced by your needs and your clinical goals, not by your payment method. Financing simply gives you more flexible ways to invest in the work.
Do you still provide superbills if I pay with financing?
Yes. SOMA is a private-pay, out-of-network practice, and we provide superbills on request no matter how you pay. You can submit a superbill to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. See our Pricing page for details.
